1. Adventure mode
The enhanced version Nitro-Fueled is seeing the return of adventure mode as well as the big villain Nitros Oxide. There are two options to play: Classic and Nitro Vold, and four types of events to play.
Choose a classic and you will pick a character from a group of characters to master their racing style, but as with the original PS One edition, you will have to stick to your choice until the end. The Nitroold option gives you the freedom to unlock characters, vehicles, and customization items, and toggle between them at any stage of your adventure.
- Artifact Race: Time is raiding you, and the only way to score time fast enough to win an artifact is to crush a time box to stop the countdown.
- CTR Challenge: Have you faced a world leader? There is more to do with these races that will send you to other side quests to collect CTR codes that unlock jewel cup events.
- Leader Challenge: Collect four cups to face Reaper Rowe, Babu Babu, Komodo Joy and Pestrip in one-on-one battles.
- Prize Race: A three-course race to win first place and the prizes you will need to unlock the Leader's Garage and Time Shift Platforms.
2. Arcade events
Would you prefer to immediately start a race against an online or offline opponent or a computer controlled opponent? There are five classic racing modes for you to choose from:
- The battle: Do you have to settle an account with someone? Battle mode is where you can take revenge on one of them in group confrontations consisting of players up to four, in a series of squares filled with weapons and additional abilities. If you are looking for an expert on all types of tracks, Butterfly is what you are looking for. His balanced stats reduce his weaknesses a lot, but he may lag behind in the tracks appropriate for a more specialized class.

5. Race tracks
