But when resistance to violent force threatens to destroy his new home, the promising hero realizes that great power comes with it a great responsibility. In order to save New York Marvel, Miles must acquire and be worthy of a Spiderman costume.

Meet the heroes from Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Miles Morales is Marvel's newest New York Spider-Man. After the sudden death of his father, Miles was introduced to Peter Parker, who soon became his friend and mentor. When Miles is pinched by the genetically modified Oscorp spider, he attained unique powers - and after months of persuasion - Peter agreed to train him.
Miles began the next phase of his life in East Harlem, where he faced many new responsibilities: maintaining friendships, a political presence in the family, and balancing life at home with life as a hero. And with a power struggle looming on the horizon threatening to destroy the city, he will have to dress up as Spiderman and stick with it or risk losing everything.
Rio Morales is Miles' mother as well as a candidate in the upcoming New York City Council race. After the death of Miles' father, Rio moved back with Miles to East Harlem, her hometown where she was raised.
She is a fierce advocate of her beloved community and always looks after her friends and neighbors. As Roxon Energy begins building a sprawling new facility in East Harlem, Rio has emerged as a community leader, countering major corporations in their fight to preserve their vibrant homeland.
Peter Parker is the original Spiderman and the guide superhero to Miles Morales. After the agonizing death of Miles' father, he assigned Peter Miles to a volunteer position at Fest - and inadvertently caused a chain of events that would make Miles superpowers similar to his own.
In the days that followed, Peter reluctantly agreed to take care of Miles as his spider-web stepson — to help the little hero control his powers and give him whatever life advice he could. As Peter joins MJ on a mission to cover Fisimakaria's peace talks for The Daily Bugle outside the country, Miles will be given the task of serving the city as the only Spider-Man until his return.
Ganke Lee is Miles Morales' best friend and people to trust. Ganke resides in Harlem and is a student at Brooklyn Visions Academy, where he sharpens his talent as a software developer and provides Miles with the needed support. Ganke's "friendly Spiderman Neighborhood" app aims to revolutionize the way New Yorkers deal with superheroes.
