The Outer Worlds is a new science fiction and role-playing game from first-person perspective in single-player mode and is provided by the developer of Pillars of Eternity and Fallout: New Vegas.

Get lost your way on a colonial ship bound for the far reaches of the galaxy, wake up after decades to find yourself in the midst of a sinister conspiracy threatening to destroy the remote Halcyon colony.

Explore the vast space and face various factions all competing for power, and determine the type of character that you will become in a game where the story unfolds according to your choices.

You are the surprising element that threatens the institution's plans for the colony.

2. Basic features

Turn your weaknesses into strength
A strong hero is known by his weaknesses as much as his strengths. The Outer Worlds tracks your progress to learn about your weaknesses and provides you with an opportunity to add them to your character's build vs. unique features throughout the gameplay.

Create your own adventure
Consistent with previous Obsidian games, your approach to situations in The Outer Worlds will be yours alone. The choices will not only affect the way the story evolves, they will also influence your character, comrades' stories, and end-of-game scenarios.

Explore the institution's colony
Uncover the hidden secrets of the remote colony Halcyon, which is strictly controlled by the institution's board of directors. Rally your crew, board your ship, and explore settlements, space stations, and other exciting locations around the Halcyon colony.

Drive your comrades
During your trip in the remote colony, you'll meet a group of characters who will want to join you. These comrades are armed with unique abilities, and they have their own tasks, motivations and principles. It is up to you to choose to help them achieve their goals or use them to achieve your personal goals.
